I forget the girl’s name, but the boy is Moose. Perhaps I shall call her Matilda for now. They are about 3 ounces each (Moose a bit more, Matilda a bit less.) They are perhaps a week old, perhaps less. They still have shriveled little umbilical cords. And fleas. I don’t know their history yet. I got them at 6 p.m. last night, so they came with me to a fiddle rehearsal. They slept for an hour and then started complaining. They weren’t warm enough, they didn’t want the covers, no bottle, etc. Mostly Moose complained. He was happier inside my shirt, but even there he wouldn’t stay still.
They were ill-content until around 3 this morning, when I managed to tuck them in well enough to stay warm. And they ate better that time, so that probably helped. They aren’t the only reason I’m low on sleep: weird bugs showed up with the controllers I program and I was tracking that until after 1 a.m.
