Reclaiming Territory

Ironman was very happy to reclaim his childhood territory. Budd and Beatrix were adopted this afternoon.

Post Fixing Post

Roo and Ironman got fixed today. When they got home, they ate and ate and ate, and drank and drank and drank, and have been playing wildly since. And Roo just had the most well-formed pooplet I’ve ever seen from him. Ironman just chewed off and swallowed the tip of the wand toy ribbon. This too shall pass.

Ironman is now Robb’s and Roo belongs to someone–he got adopted today, Friday, first available day.

Doing Well Now

Both kittens are doing well now and aare dding the weight gains they missed last week to this week’s gains. Roo maybe will always have skinny poops that are a little too loose, but his litterbox skills have increased. The barfing seems to be over. Both cats have surpassed the 2 pound mark.

Now both are more interested in Outside The Room. They can get over the barricade if it’s at half-height and are climbing a bit when it’s at full height. Roo has been considering sneaking out if I shift the barricade for my own exit.

Not Fixed

Ironman passed 2 pounds a while ago and a week ago, Roo was a fraction of an ounce away. Then both started stalling or losing weight, Ironman had weird poop, we had a lot of mystery barf. Yesterday they were planning on neutering both, but decided to wait a week on both. Mid-afternoon, I found the probable barfer was Roo, when he did a massive one. They’re watery and a few hours after eating, so he’s getting some good from the food.

Ironman is back on track with digesting. Roo is Roo. He’s learning to be tidier with the litter box anyhow.

Back on Proviable

Roo got within a fraction of an ounce of 2 pounds, and then started losing weight again. He got goopy again, not as bad as before, but needs to be more careful about foot placement in the litter box. Ironman is well over two pounds, but also has been losing weight a little. They had shots and worming Friday, so it may settle out soon. They’re both happy and playful so not too worrisome. (“Proviable” is a probiotic, powder AND goop this time).

News Flash: Roo just made it to the top of the barricade (at half-height).

Blue Puppy Returns

Rob suggested Roo might like to cuddle Blue Puppy again. It was an enthusiastic welcome. although he’s busy with Ironman now.

Heroic Ironman

Ironman was heroically staying awake. He’s getting braver about canned food. He still wants to start with a little bit on the floor. Somehow eating floor food is better than eating it from the dish. It’s a shallow dish, so I don’t think whisker fatigue is the problem. It feels more like a broken cookie syndrome (if it’s just going to waste, I’ll eat it).

Roo has finally joined the Clean Butt club and is back on track on weight. Ironman has been over 2 pounds for a while now; Roo should be there by early next week.

More Playing

They play a lot together, chasing and wrestling.

Roo went back to loose poops, making footwashing a necessity again. His appetite and activity level are good, so I’m not worried, but it’s not pleasant for either of us.

Ironman is figuring out jumping up on things. Roo is working on pulling up onto the ladder steps.
