Moose likes Banana Slug’s eye stalks. No videos of them running, because they only do that a little. They chew on each other or whatever body parts get in reach, they watch things, they balance on things. They’re developing their cat skills.

The stage of running around, batting, and swaggering. It is a tail, balancing a silly cat, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, full of meow and fury, swatting anything.
They’re having a good time now, being social, sometimes accepting food that isn’t in a bottle, and mostly using the litter box. They’re working on technique, but they’ve become aware of the output needs. Muppet usually preferred napping in bed, but here she was enjoying my lap, while maintaining modesty.
Moose is compelled to check any container with water in it, and always ends up snorting some, sneezing, and leaving it for a while. Probably he’ll know how to drink next week.
I moved them to the Under-The-Table space yesterday. I checked that their heads were too broad to fit through the caging I use across the front of the Under-Table, so I didn’t have to add manila folders across the bottom, and I set up a bunch of stuff they were used to and the lumpy pink bed. The creases in the lumpy pink bed are perfect for skootching down into, so it looks rather like they’re being swallowed by a couch. I had the climbing triangle in there, but someone pooped on it. Much of the time though they find their way clear to the litter box. They need to learn to leave, not sit down after doing whatever in the box, but they’re learning quickly.
Moose even is willing to eat a little canned food with formula on his own. Muppet will do a big production of chewing and sometimes swallowing if I put some food in her mouth, but she won’t take more from the dish yet. They’re abut 3.5 weeks old now.
Ears, eyes, and teeth, and sharp little claws: they are fully equipped. Their walking is still tentative and wobbly, but they do get up off their back ankles more.
They eat a bit now, and seem to nurse off the bottle better if it’s been more like four hours since their last chance. They’re wolfing it down at the 3 a.m. and 6 or 7 a.m. feedings though, so I’m still getting up in the night for them. They’re both over 330 grams (around 12 ounces). No interest in the litter box yet. I will start pushing the issue a bit more.
Update: after dinner, Moose was complaining and crouching, so I put him in the litter box. He squatted and peed in excellent style. Not to be outdone, Muppet pooped in the litter box.
